Chi mi segue da tempo ormai lo sa, esplorare posti nuovi è qualcosa di cui non posso fare a meno. Uno dei motivi per i quali ho scelto di vivere a Londra è proprio perché non è mai possibile annoiarsi in questo senso. Londra è la culla del lifestyle: c’è sempre qualcosa di nuovo da vedere, da provare, da visitare.
Di recente sono stata invitata all’Opening Party di Mercato Metropolitano a Londra, una realtà tutta italiana che, partita da Milano, è ora giunta qui in UK grazie ad una joint venture con il gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo.
Those of you who have been following me for a while should know already that exploring new places is something I cannot avoid doing. One of the reasons why I chose to live in London is that you just cannot get bored. London is spot on in terms of lifestyle options: there is always something new to see, to try out, to visit.
Recently I have been invited to the Opening Party of Mercato Metropolitano, in London, an Italian idea which started off in Milan and has now landed in the UK thanks to a joint venture with the Intesa Sanpaolo group.
L’idea nasce da Andrea Rasca, imprenditore specializzato in food diplomacy con 20 anni alle spalle di viaggi, degustazioni, ricerche e opportunità commerciali.
Dopo anni di progettazione a 360 gradi, oggi, prende forma Mercato Metropolitano: uno spazio di oltre 4500 metri quadri suddivisi tra spazi interni ed esterni contenente una serie di punti vendita e somministrazione di cibo italiano. Al centro un vero e proprio mercato che offre prodotti artigianali di piccoli produttori rigorosamente Made in Italy.
The idea owner is Andrea Rasca, entrepreneur specialised in food diplomacy with over 20 years of experience in travels, tastings, researches and trade opportunities.
After years of planning, today, takes shape Mercato Metropolitano: an area of over 4500 sq. divided between inside and outside spaces hosting a series of shops where you can taste Italian gastronomy. In the center there is a real market that offers Made in Italy artisan products of small producers.
Ispirato ai valori dell’artigianalità, della sostenibilità, della riqualificazione urbana e del buon cibo è senz’altro uno dei mercati più trendy della capitale Britannica, laddove, come ci ha raccontato Sara Montali, Social Media Manager di MM , “partecipazione alla vita sociale e culturale della città si fondono in un unico luogo”.
Un posto in cui le parole d’ordine sono socializzazione e convivialità: e così, addentrandosi per assaporare l’italian food, ci si ritrova immersi in una serie di eventi e iniziative dove poter partecipare in prima persona- continua Sara: “Il nostro è uno spazio immersivo dove arte,cultura e sport si fondono all’enogastronomia. Avremo corsi per bambini e adulti, un boxing gym, corsi di yoga, un co-working space, il cinema ed un club con musica jazz. A seguire inizieremo collaborazioni con istituzioni inglesi locali per la realizzazione di eventi”.
Inspired by the values of craftsmanship, sustainability, urban requalification and good food, it is one of the most trendy markets ever built in London , where, as Sara Montali, MM’s Social Media Manager told us, “social and cultural elements of the city come together in one single place”
A place where socialisation and conviviality are the keywords: whilst you are enjoying the best of the Italian cuisine , you’ll find yourself involved in events, music exhibitions and several sort of activities – says Sara: “MM is a large space where art, culture and sport get mixed together with wine and food. We will have courses for adults and kids, a boxing gym, yoga courses and a co-working space, a movie theatre and a jazz music club. We are also currently negotiating a collaboration with local English institutions to host several other types of events (so stay tuned :)”.
Lo spazio è grande, come è grande il progetto che MM ha voluto sposare: un concept nuovo che non vuole solo offrire un servizio di ristorazione ma attraverso il cibo mira a trasmettere valori di autenticità, vuole spiegare a chi non lo sa, che mangiare non è solo nutrirsi, ma mangiare, e , mangiare bene, è diventato uno stile di vita che regala momenti di festa da condividere con i propri amici.
The overall MM space is very big, just like the MM project: a new concept which doesn’t only offer a place where to eat, but which also wants to focus on authenticity and conviviality elements which exist within the food space , by explaining to those who have never experienced it, that eating doesn’t just mean feeding ourselves , but can be a way of living which allows you take enough time to share your great moments with friends and family.
Infine, molto interessanti sono anche le novità previste per il futuro: sopra il supermercato è prevista la realizzazione di una palestra di boxe. Inoltre, a partire da questo mese, al piano superiore ci sarà MAX: uno spazio di co-working luminoso con vista mozzafiato sullo skyline di Londra. MAX sarà aperto anche durante il weekend per divertirsi e rilassarsi in compagnia, uno spazio ideale per studenti e residenti per trascorrere il tempo libero con un tocco di stile.
Last but not least, very interesting are also the news regarding the future: above the supermarket will soon be realised a boxe gym. Moreover, starting from this month, on the top floor will be MAX: a bright co-working space with a breathtaking view on London’s skyline. MAX will be open also during weekends to have fun and relax together, an ideal space for students and residents to spend free-time in style.
