Tubino: un “Must Have” senza Tempo!

Ciao girls,

Siamo tutti d’accordo che la moda e’ creativita’, e’ espressione della propria personalita’, e che ognuna di noi deve trovare un proprio stile unico attraverso il quale esprimersi e sentirsi a proprio agio.

Tuttavia non possiamo negare che esistono dei capi  che non possono fare a meno di far parte del nostro guardaroba, quei must have indiscussi che, a mio avviso,nemmeno la piu’ anticonformista delle donne puo’ permettersi di ignorare.

Uno di questi e’ senz’altro il tubino.

Personalmente il tubino mi fa sentire bene: femminile, sofisticata e sexy allo stesso tempo. Lo uso spesso sia in caso di colloquio di lavoro, presentazione o riunione importante.

Prima di mostrarvi l’outfit di oggi, vediamo quindi un po’ di storia del tubino (la fonte e’ questo pezzo di Luxstyle che mi e’ piaciuto molto).

..Non so se per voi e’ lo stesso, ma io trovo la storia della moda estremamente affascinante, trascorrerei ore e ore a leggere libri ed articoli su origini ed evoluzioni di mode e tendenze!

I think we all agree that fashion is not just about the way you look, but it’s one of the biggest expressions of creativity and personality, and also that all of us have to find a way through feeling comfortable and express themselves.

However we cannot deny that there are certain items which cannot be missed in our wardrobe, those “must haves” that, in my opinion, even the most “non-conformist women
can’t really ignore.

One of those is certainly the sheath dress.

Personally speaking, I feel good when I wear a sheat dress, as it makes me feel feminine, sophisticated and sexy at the same time.

Hence I use it very often for important occasions like : job interviews, speeches or customer meetings.

Before showing you my outfit today, let’s have a little look to the ‘history of the sheath (the source an article of  ) .

..I don’t know if for you it’s the same, but I find the history of fashion extremely fascinating, I could spend hours and hours reading books and articles about the history and evolution of fashion,trends and iconic items!

“Il tubino ha quasi 90 anni, ma non li dimostra. È elegante ma adatto ad ogni occasione; è presente in tutti i guardaroba e le figlie lo rubano alle mamme. Originariamente indossato solo nei periodi di lutto, il tubino viene sdoganato da Coco Chanel.

Nero ed attillato compare nel 1926 su “Vogue America”, che lo paragona per semplicità e diffusione alla Ford T. Il tubino piace subito per la linea semplice e scivolata e per la morbidezza del tessuto (gabardine o jersey). 

Grazie al suo carattere semplice ed elegante, trionfa nel clima d’austerity della Grande Depressione, indossato da donne comuni e dive.

Piace a Wallis Simpson, Duchessa di Windsor, e a Edith Piaf. È nel 1961 che diventa un’icona, indosso a Audrey Hepburn in “Colazione da Tiffany”. Dalla metà degli anni ’60, il tubino perde la ribalta della scena: negli anni delle contestazioni e dei movimenti femministi le donne indossano abiti colorati o completi rubati dal guardaroba maschile.

Negli anni ’80 si riscopre la femminilità: le business women adottano il tubino come divisa da lavoro e Donna Karan, direttore creativo di Anne Klein, ne disegna di magnifici. Da qui la strada è tutta in discesa, e il tubino ricompare sui red carpet hollywoodiani donando addirittura la fama ad una semi sconosciuta Liz Hurley, cinta in un favoloso abito di Gianni Versace. Ancora oggi il tubino è una delle “divise” preferite dalle star: Angelina Jolie è una sua grande fan, e lo indossa spesso con semplici décollétes, senza gioielli. Il tubino entra definitivamente nel mito nel 2006, quando quello disegnato da Givenchy  per “Colazione da Tiffany” viene battuto all’asta per 467.000 sterline” 

“The sheath has almost 90 years, but doesn’t look like  it. It’s elegant, suitable for any occasion, and it is present in all wardrobes and daughters tend to steal their mothers ones. Originally worn only during mourning times, the sheath dress has been made reinterpreted by Coco Chanel .

It appeared in the black and stretch version  for the first time in 1926 on “Vogue America”, which was compared for simplicity  to the Ford T. The sheath dress was immediately successful because of the simple lines as well as the softness of fabric.

Thanks to his simple and elegant  touch, it had a massive spread within the Great Depression period of austerity , being worn by both ordinary women and divas.

Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, and Edith Piaf liked it as well.

 It is in 1961 it became an icon, as worn by Audrey Hepburn in the super famous movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” In the mid-60s, the sheath dress lost some popularity  as  it come the time of protests and feminist movements who were wearing colorful and very masculine clothes.

In the 80s femininity gained again interest within the women universe: the business women used to wear the sheath as a work uniform and Donna Karan, creative director of Anne Klein, designed some magnificent ones.

From this time onwards  the sheat doors were open , and the sheath dress reappeared on the Hollywood red carpet by letting the semi unknown Liz Hurley gaining fame  wearing a fabulous  Gianni Versace dress.

Even today, the sheath dress is one of the favourite choices of celebrities: Angelina Jolie often wears one combined with simple dècolletès and not even jewelry. The sheath dress definitely become a myth in 2006, when the  one designed by Givenchy for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”  was sold at auction for 467,000 pounds

Eccovi quindi , la mia “interpretazione” di tubino, che mi sono divertita ad arricchire  utilizzando un paio di accessori (cerchietto e foulard legato in vita che richiama il rosso del cerchietto), perche’ si sa, le cose troppo semplici mi annoiano!

Lo stile, tuttavia resta molto classico, che poi diciamocelo, e’ quello che preferisco.

Il tacco 15 , qui e’ d’obbligo, e io ho scelto uno dei miei modelli preferiti, che avvolge sia piede che caviglia. Inutile dire pero’ che un decollete’ classico ci sarebbe stato benissimo.

So here we go, this is my “interpretation” of the sheath dress, which I enjoyed combining with a few accessories (headband and scarf tied at the waist that matches the colour of the headband itself), because , as you know, the too simple things do bore me!

The style, however, remains very classic, which let’s face it, it is my favourite one. 

The  15 cm heels are definitely a must ,and,  I chose one of my favorite models which wraps both the foot and the ankle. Obviously a classic decollete’ would have definitely worked too.
